Dec 01, 1977 The design of a gas-discharge ion source intended to perform with an on-line electromagnetic mass separator at the U-300 heavy ion cyclotron is described. This ion source has a small cylindrical anode located in the discharge chamber being under the cathode potential. The cathode filament is placed inside the anode.
